Welcome to my blog about Professional Sports Transactions.

It will consist of nearly every trade, free-agent signing, firing, hire, or cuts in all of the four major sports leagues (NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA).

My first story involves my favorite baseball team, the Chicago White Sox. Today, January 15, 2009, the Sox signed pitcher Bartolo Colon to a one-year 1 million dollar contract. He pitched with the team in 2003 before being shipped off to the Angels. He is a former Cy Young winner and will hopefully provide some leadership in the Sox's very young locker room. He may also strike up chemistry with the Sox's many Spanish-speaking players (i.e. Alexei Ramirez, Carlos Quentin.)

Visit ESPN.com for all of the logistics of the signing.
